I was born and raised in New Orleans, surrounded by stories of pirates, voodoo, and swamp werewolves. My love of storytelling originated in these colorful tales and they continue to inspire the stories I write. I received a BA in English from Louisiana State University and an MA in Writing for Young People from Bath Spa University.

In the past, I’ve worked as a library associate and a bookseller. I’m currently a stay-at-home parent and picture-book narrator to my two children. We live near a lake on the edge of New Orleans along with my husband and our cat, Nymeria. 

I enjoy writing stories for all ages, particularly stories with headstrong, messy female leads; atmospheric settings; magic; and romance.
